Job vacancy: Temporary Staff Member at the DAAD Regional Office Tbilisi

The DAAD Georgia invites applications for the position of a full-time temporary staff member, to commence on 1 September 2026 and to run until June 2027 (at the latest).

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the world’s largest funding organisation for cross-border academic cooperation and the international exchange of students and researchers. Its members are German higher education institutions and their student bodies. The DAAD’s international expertise is strengthened by a network of 20 offices worldwide and 35 information centres promoting Germany as a destination for higher education and research.

The DAAD Regional Office in Tbilisi, established in 2021, is responsible for the South Caucasus, covering Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Its core tasks include providing information and guidance on study and research opportunities in Germany, as well as on funding programmes; administering application procedures for DAAD scholarships; supporting DAAD alumni; facilitating cooperation between higher education institutions in the South Caucasus and Germany; advising on academic collaboration; cooperating with the German Embassies in Baku, Yerevan and Tbilisi, and with German intermediary organisations in the field of education; organising and implementing training and information events for students and academic staff.

The DAAD Georgia invites applications for the position of a full-time temporary staff member, to commence on 1 September 2026 and to run until June 2027 (at the latest).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to enquiries from students and researchers in the South Caucasus concerning DAAD scholarship programmes via email, telephone, and social media
  • Supporting the administration of DAAD scholarship programmes
  • Assisting in the preparation, implementation, and post-processing of scholarship selection meetings
  • Contributing to the planning and implementation of online language tests in the South Caucasus
  • Assisting in the organisation and implementation of events, including education fairs
  • Performing general administrative and office duties

You must meet the following requirements:

  • A completed bachelor’s degree (at minimum)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Excellent command of Georgian and English (both at C1 level)
  • Good command of German (minimum B1 level; B2 level considered an asset)
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly comprehend new material and work independently on own initiative
  • High degree of flexibility, reliability, resilience, and a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Willingness to work outside standard working hours (including evenings and weekends), particularly in connection with events
  • Valid work permit and unrestricted residence permit in Georgia

Desirable qualifications:

  • Study experience in Germany
  • Professional experience in the education sector
