Against the background of the ongoing modernization of higher education in Georgia and the growing importance of employability, the DAAD Regional Office South Caucasus and GIZ are jointly organizing a two-day dialogue event on cooperation between higher education and the labour market in Georgia.
Who should attend
- Representatives of Georgian higher education institutions responsible for curriculum development (e.g. deans), particularly in fields relevant to the Georgian economy such as economics/business studies, medicine and biology, engineering, and logistics
- Decision-makers in Georgian education policy
- Representatives of Georgian business and industry, in particular sector representatives who can act as multipliers for stronger cooperation between science and business
DAAD alumnae and alumni are especially encouraged to attend.
Objectives
- Strengthen dialogue and cooperation on employability as a shared, forward-looking topic for Georgia’s higher education system
- Provide participants with practical, good-practice examples and expertise from Germany on employability and curriculum development
- Deepen the exchange within Georgia between vocational and higher education, and between state and private universities
- Contribute to the broader modernization of Georgia’s higher education system, with a stronger focus on employability
Program
The event will combine keynote presentations, panel discussions, and parallel workshops, with speakers from Germany and Georgia and an external moderation. The draft program is available here:
